Creative Expressions - Garden Chic # 1

Our new stamp set for this month is by Eco Green Crafts called "Garden Chic". They are made from recycled rubber and are bright green. The images are beautifully detailed and stamp really well.
There is a nice range of images on the set. I love the dress form and the butterfly. But for my first project I have used the tulip tile. I noticed in my garden the other day that the bulbs are stirring and my snow drops are in flower. I like this time of year when you know that daylight is starting to stretch and spring is not too far away. With that in mind I chose some bright yellows and oranges for these two simple cards - this stamp would be great for Easter cards.

The background was made by stamping a crackle glaze stamp with Versamark and embossing with clear powder. Then I blended Mustard Seed, Spun Sugar and Barn Door Distress inks over the top.

The tulip tile was stamped onto white card then the same colours of Distress inks blended over the top. I then triple embossed the tile with clear powder. Unfortunately you can't really see that on the photo. I found this gold bee button in my stash as the finishing touch.
I then did a quicker version of the same card.

The border is one of the Spellbinder Borderabilities "Lattice" which looks good layered on black card.

My embellishment this time is the gorgeous little bee that is on this stamp set. I added a little diamond stickles to the wings.
I thought I would blog early this morning. My daughter Catriona is home for the week end so I want to spend time with her today. I have promised her a driving practise. My hubby just got a new car recently and this will be Catriona's first time driving it!!! No doubt my nerves will be shot to piece by the time we get home!!
Have a good Sunday.
