Woodware Design Team - Sketch Challenge 3

This week it's another sketch challenge. I quite like these as the layout is already done for you. So here is the sketch that we were given.
Anyone who knows me, will probably remember I have a thing for dragonflies. So I am always on the look-out for something new to add to my collection. This one is a new Stampendous cling stamp CRP119 Cling Dragonfly Vine. I love these cling stamps. They are proper rubber, but the image is printed on the back of the stamp making them so easy to position. That enabled me to use the tips of the vine to stamp onto the tag.

The background was created by using 3 shades of blues and purple tombow brush markers onto my white panel (cut with a nestie but a plain rectagle would do). I then spritzed with bleach which I added a little water to. It makes great backgrounds. Then I stamped the dragonfly in a waterproof ink like Memories or Stazon.  I then used the bleach neat with a brush to lift the colour off the wings and create shadows along one side of the dragonfly and some of the vine tendrils.
The layering up was easy. I used one of the new magenta papers as the background, and some Magenta printed vellum at the side. For the black layer I used one of Woodware's fabulous Crafty Edgers. I was and am a fan of Martha Stewart punches, but I have to say the Woodware system is so easy to use for effortless matching.
To finish off I painted a little interference blue and violet from my Pearl-ex Watercolour palette, onto the wings for a little shimmer. I also found little purple nailheads to embellish the vine.

I think this will be a stamp I will use regularly!! I think I am first to post this week for the Woodware Blog but be sure to check back to see what the others have come up with.
