Happy New Year

Hope you all had a good Christmas and now looking forward to the year ahead. I don't usually make any New Year resolutions as I rarely keep them. But this year I have made a few. There are the usual like lose some weight and get fitter. But I also want to challenge myself creatively. It's easy to get stuck in a rut and keep on producing projects that are very similar. There is so much inspiration out there that I tend to be a bit overwhelmed by it all. It's easy to stay in your comfort zone but to grow creatively you need to step out and try new things. I think my main problem is fear of failure. So that's my resolution.... to try things I haven,t tried before. And if the results are awful, no one will see them except me but hopefully I have learnt something along the way.

I noticed on a few blogs that fellow crafter have a review of their favourite projects of the year. In fact that's exactly what we are doing at The Stamp Man Challenge blog at the moment. I am going post my favourite projects as a reminder to myself. And I hope that this time next year I will have improved or at least found my true style.
My review starts in April 2011 when I started my blog.

Stampers Anonymous Elephants - birthday card for my nephew

Crafty Individuals Ikea Mirror
t
Butterflies and Dragonflies - entry for a Stamp Man Challenge

Birthday Card for my friend Lin
Flying Geese Canvas - in memory of my Mum
My favourite Christmas design this year.
Night Sky - my project for The Stamp Man DT - love this stamp!!
Traditional Christmas - project for Woodware DT
The only one of Tim's Tags this year that I attempted.

That reminds me - another goal for this year is to try all of Tim's Christmas tags - that in itself will be a great learning experience.
Thanks to all of you who have visited my blog last year and left comments. It is awesome to be small part in such a huge virtual crafting world. I look forward in continuing to blog and visit as many other blogs as I can in the coming year. I have found so many of you to be so generous in sharing your work and knowledge - I find inspiration every day.

  3. These are just wonderful creations Siobhan and ones you must be very proud of indeed.
Like you I don't make resolutions, but this year I want to create some 12 x 12 scrap pages. I think I only got to do two of Tim's tags so I thought I that when I have a bit of time I will go back and attempt each one of them but rather than re-create the tag itself I am going to use the techniques on cards. We will see if I make it. You could always join me.
    Have a good week.

  4. Hi sis,
What a lovely selection of work. I don't think you have to worry about lacking creativity, I am always amazed at all the different techniques and ideas you come up with. Keep up the good display so that we can all keep peeping in and having a look and what you are up to. Happy New year to all.
