Woodware Design Team - Traditional Christmas

For this week's challenge we have been asked to make a traditional Christmas card. I knew straight away that I wanted to use the second Magenta bird stamp that I have. I used the other one a few weeks ago for the Blue Christmas challenge. I just love these stamps!!
This one is called Musical Bird 2 and the code is C43.030K

I stamped it in Coffee Archival ink and cut out as a square . The tag was made by blending several colours of soft browns and soft blue to colour the white card. I then inked up a background stamp with Versamark. I used a Stampendous music background but a nice script would work well.
You then spritz the stamp lightly with water and press down on the upper two thirds of the tag and lift off. You will see the ink being lifted off to reveal a lovely soft resist. You can speed it up with your heat gun.

At the bottom of the tag I stamped the beautiful border from a new Stampendous set called Damask Chair SSC 1120

When I had finished stamping the tag I embossed the edges with gold powder.
On the background paper I stamped another Stampendous border "Elegant Borders" SSC1122 down the left hand side and embossed with detail gold powder.
I wanted something vintage to finish off so I soaked some seam binding in coffee for my double bow. Then for the button (which came from a Woodware pack of buttons called "Coffee and Cream", I stuck it onto a wooden skewer. I then rolled the edge across a gold ink pad and dipped it into gold powder and heated with my heat gun. The large pearl fitted perfectly in the middle.

I hope you like it. Be sure to check out what the other girls are up to at the Woodware Blog this week.
