The Stamp Man - Vellum

It's time for a new challenge at The Stamp Man. We have been asked to use vellum in our project. As it's been another week of chasing my tail and getting no where, my card is very simple.
I have used the vellum as an overlay on which to stamp and emboss my sentiment. Some of the ladies who came to workshops at Stampaholics will remember this one!!

I have a pack of 12x12 pastel vellum that I got from The Stamp Man. I chose the cream one for this overlay as it blended nicely with the colours I chose.
The background is blended distress inks on white card stock then flicked with water. The flowers are an old favourite of mine Stampendous Agapanthus Cluster. I have the original wood mounted stamp but it is now available as a cling. I had of course to add my little flock of birds from Tim Holtz's stamp set CMS064 Mini Ornates.

For the overlay I stamped the sentiment (from another Tim Holtz set CMS110 "Stuff to Say") in gold and embossed with gold powder.
I then stamped this gorgeous little bird (Stampendous CRV 237  Lone Bird) onto the vellum above the sentiment. I then used Distress Inks directly onto the stamp and spritzed lightly with water and stamped onto ivory card. This is where I am looking forward to getting hold of the new Distress markers. They will be just perfect for this technique!! It would help of course if I didn't keep raiding my crafting piggy bank for other things!!

To finish I cut out just the bird and popped him on with 3D foam pads.
So if you fancy a go, include vellum somewhere or somehow in your project and you could be in with a chance of winning a £10 voucher to spend at The Stamp Man on-line shop. Be sure to check out what the rest of the team have been creating. There are some stunning samples to inspire you.
Have a great weekend!!
