I then used the flourish stamp with Versamark spritzed with water to stamp onto the background. It lifts off some of the colour to leave a negative resist. I use this technique a lot when making backgrounds. If you have not done this before there is a tutorial for you to follow.
- I over stamped the same swirl stamp using 2nd generation Pine Needles (I did not want it too dark)
- The tree was stamped with black pigment ink and embossed with a sparkly embossing powder.
- I sponged some versamark along the base of the tag and embossed with white powder.
- Then I finished off with some snowflakes, the swirl and Noel all from Spellbinder dies.
Oh wow! I love this very much! The background's incredible!

Ooh, now that's a new one on me and it's not often I learn something new about Versamark - I LOVE it and use it so much for so many things. Thanks for that - will have to try spritzing it with water ... suppose it's similar to spraying through a stencil to lift off colour, h'mmmmmm .... I know what's on my 'to do' list for next time I stamp, lol. Thanks, Siobhan! Lovely tag and you've made my day x
ReplyDeleteLovely tag Siobhan, I love the resist, the background is fab. The tree looks great embossed too. Tracy x

You were a great inspiration to me, Siobhan, I loved your card boards in the shop. I am back to my cards after a long spell in sugarcraft, but now that we are sold up and retired from the bakery I have much more creative time! I enjoy your blog and tutorials...great to see you crafting as well as working hard. Kind regards from Elizabeth :)
