Creative Expressions - The Voice of Art # 3

Another busy week has flown by and as usual I am last to get my project finished this week. We are still playing with the fab "The Voice of Art"  stamps from Studio 490. This week I wanted to try out my first pack of Art Parts. I have used the square frame from the "Large Circle Frame and Large Square Frame set. I will definitely be buying more of these and be more adventurous next time and get some of the shaped ones.

I made the frame by building up about 3 layers of gold embossing powder. Then working on one side at a time I stamped into the final layer with a lovely flower and leaf border that comes from another set of Studio 490 stamps "LCS018 It's More Flower Art". I inked the stamp with Versamark before stamping so that I could brush on some green and blue patina Perfect Pearls powders.
The inside panel was stamped with the "invoice" stamp from the featured set using Versamark and embossed with clear powder. I then blended over Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint over the top to make the resist show through. A few flicks of water finished the look.

The ornate plate was also embossed with gold as were my flower petals. They were die cut from glassine paper with a couple of flowers from the Spellbinders Carnation Creations set.  I was going to die cut leaves but I liked the metallic look I achieved with the flower so used some idealology leaves instead.

Now I am going to get a glass of wine as it is Friday night and go visit a few of my favourite blogs!! Hope you have a great weekend.

  4. I love that frame - it's gorgeous. I really like the technique of stamping into molten embossing powder but never thought of using mica powder as well. You are so clever!! Have a good weekend.
